Kimmett Cup is proud to have donated over $1,800,000 to the community through charities including the Lindsay Leigh Kimmett Memorial Fund, Right to Play, Make-A-Wish Canada, KidSport and Helping Families Handle Cancer. This year we are working with the following charities – Helping Hands, Helping Families Handle Cancer, and Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Lindsay Leigh Kimmett Memorial Fund – $500,000
Right to Play: $400,000 ($100,000 raised by KC5 matched x 3 by the government)
Make-A-Wish Canada: $1,000,000 (100 wishes)
Children’s Cottage Society: $165,000
Helping Families Handle Cancer: $40,000
KidSport: $7,000

Lindsay Leigh Kimmett Memorial Foundation

Since 2009 over $3.25 million dollars has been raised and donated through the Lindsay Leigh Kimmett Memorial Foundation to over 100 projects and initiatives locally and internationally. Some of these projects include:

  • Enduring Valedictorian Scholarships at all three Cochrane High Schools
  • Dr. Lindsay Leigh Kimmett Prize in Emergency Medicine at U of C Medical School
  • Lindsay’s Kids Minor Hockey & Ringette Scholarships
  • Spray Lakes Sawmills Recreation Centre twin arena addition
  • Benches and picnic tables at Mitford Park
  • Start-up funding for the Cochrane Arts & Culture Centre
  • Base funding for the LINDSAY Virtual Human Project at U of C School of Medicine
  • Red Cross Relief in Haiti
  • Lindsay Kimmett Academy Kindergarten in Arusha, Tanzania
  • Mitford Park Upgrades
